Corinthians announced Tuesday via a message posted on the official website, over striker Alexandre Pato, aged 27, the Spanish team Villarreal CF in exchange for three million.
Thus, after an experience in England at Chelsea, along which did not create the expected impact of the management team at Stamford Bridge, Pato will attempt to regain the form that has enshrined in Italy at AC Milan. To accept the offer from Villareal, Pato refused a proposal from the Italian team Lazio.
“The club Corinthians announces Tuesday, July 26, reached an agreement with Spanish team Villarreal for the transfer of Alexandre Pato. By agreement of both parties, will not be disclosed contractual period and the amount of transfer”, reads the Brazilian officials.
Pato’s contract with Corinthians was to expire in December this year, which is why the heads of the Brazilian team chose the option of a transfer now.
Former striker from AC Milan to close 62 matches for Corinthians, during which he scored 17 goals. Also in Brazil, Pato has accumulated 101 games for Sao Paolo, managing to score 38 goals. Chelsea Brazilian striker caught only two matches in five months and scored one goal.
